Here at Thimbleby Shooting Ground we have a strict fibre wad only policy meaning that we only allow the use of fibre wad cartridges when shooting at the ground.
Fibre wad is an eco friendly replacement for plastic wadding which separates the charge from the pellets in traditional cartridges and are used to prevent plastic wads littering the countryside. Unlike plastic cases, plastic wads are practically impossible to collect and recycle as they are distributed over a wide area of ground. Not only will plastic wads take hundreds of years to biodegrade, but they can also pose a real danger to livestock and wildlife. The difference in cost and performance between fibre and plastic wad cartridges is minimal and yet by switching to fibre, we can make a real difference to the countryside which we feel is important.
We do sell a wide range of fibre wad cartridges, including the Thimbleby 247, and one of our team will always be on hand to answer any queries you have about the cartridges or our policy.
Thank you for your support and understanding of this decision.
