2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year at Thimbleby Shooting Ground and we’re thrilled to unveil our lineup of events. Whether you’re just beginning your journey with a shotgun, keen to introduce a young shooter to the sport or looking for competitions to put your skills to the test, there’s something for everyone. Our team has been hard at work behind the scenes putting the finishing touches to our events calendar, and it’s packed with opportunities to learn, improve and challenge yourself. Make sure you have your diary to hand, and here’s what’s in store:
Ladies Shooting and Afternoon Tea
Treat yourself to a morning of expert tuition on the shooting ground followed by a well-earned afternoon tea and a glass of fizz in the clubhouse! These relaxed and informative sessions are perfect for both novice lady guns to take their first shots and experienced shooters looking to sharpen their skills in a supportive setting.
Dates: Saturday 17th of May, 14th of June and 12th of July.
Times: Arrive at 10:45am, shooting from 11:00am to 1:00pm followed by afternoon tea
Cost: Novices: £95 (TSG members) / £99 (non-members); intermediate and experienced: £115 (TSG members) / £120 (non-members)
Included: TSG Cap, 25 clays and cartridges (novice guns) or 50 clays and cartridges (intermediate and experienced guns), two hours of instruction, all equipment, afternoon tea and a glass of fizz.
Ladies Friday Morning Shooting
Join us for a monthly morning session during term time that’s dedicated to ladies who love to shoot! Enjoy pastries and hot drinks in the clubhouse before heading out for two hours of clay shooting tuition, then round off the experience with a glass of fizz with new friends…
Dates: One term-time Friday per month, the 28th of March, 25th of April, 23rd of May, 27th of June, 25th of July, 26th of September, 24th of October and 28th of November.
Times: Arrive 09:30am for tea, coffee and pastries, shooting from 10:00am to 12:00pm followed by a glass of fizz.
Cost: Novices: £85 (TSG members) / £89 (non-members); intermediate and experienced: £105 (TSG members) / £110 (non-members).
Included: TSG Cap, 25 or 50 clays (depending on level), two hours of instruction, all equipment, pastries and tea or coffee on arrival and a glass of fizz.
The 50 Sporting Competition & High Tower Challenge
Join us on Wednesday 16th of April for a competitive challenge across five varied English sporting stands, with some great prizes up for grabs – and bragging rights, of course!
Times: Join us from 2:00pm to 8:00pm (last entry is at 7:00pm and pre-booking your space is strongly recommended!)
Cost: £22 (TSG members) / £27 (non-members)
Included: 50 clays across five stands, with referees on each stand
Prizes: High Gun £150 TSG gift card, 2nd place £100 gift card, 3rd place £50 gift card.
TSG Tuesday Burger Night
TSG Tuesdays are the perfect weekday treat and a great way to make the most of the lighter evenings. Every Tuesday from the 1st of April to the 26th of August, enjoy 50 clays followed by a bacon cheeseburger and then a drink (beer or a soft drink) between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. The best bit? The price is just £25 for our TSG members or £28 for non-members and you can add fries for £2.75 and onion rings for £3.50. Register between 4pm and 6:30pm and last food orders are at 7:15pm. Enjoy!
Young Shots Days
Young Shots Days are for aspiring young shooters ages 10 to 16, and they offer the perfect chance to develop skills, build confidence and make new friends in a supportive environment. They take place during the school holidays, so make sure you check social media and sign up to our newsletter to know when they’re next taking place! At the time of writing, we’re busy signing up young guns for our Easter dates: Friday 11th, Saturday 12th, Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th, Wednesday 23rd and Saturday 26th of April.
Demo Days
Demo days are back for 2025!
Make a note in your diary because our popular demo days are back, and just like last year they offer a superb day out for shooting enthusiasts. Join us on 7th of May, 2nd of July and 27th of August (all Wednesdays). The line—up for the 7th of May event is confirmed as follows:
