Clay shooting is an enjoyable event for friends, family or colleagues.

This lesson gives a brief introduction to clay shooting for those who have no/little shooting experience.

 

INTRODUCTION TO CLAY SHOOTING (25 Clays) – £40

This 45 minute lesson is the perfect way to try the sport; covering all safety aspects and touching on the skills required to shoot varied targets.

Everyone* can have a go at clay shooting, but if you do not have a Shotgun License you must have be with one of our instructors. An introduction with a professional instructor costs £40 including 25 clays, cartridges, safety equipment and use of a shotgun. This will introduce you to the basics of shooting and take you through all aspects of gun safety and handling. You will be given an eye dominance test and hopefully you will soon be hitting a few clays!

 

* Minimum age of at least 9 years, depending on size/build

ADULT LESSON (50 Clays) – £75 PER LESSON

This is a 1 hour comprehensive lesson, tailored to your needs, with a qualified and experienced professional instructor.

Whether you are new to the sport or a seasoned professional, clay or game shot, we all benefit from having a lesson from time to time. Bad habits are all too easy to pick up and the longer they remain unnoticed, the harder they are to get rid of. If you are just starting out, you will find that with the benefit of our tuition, your progression will be a lot faster. You may wish to use your own gun or one of our range of guns, best suited to you and fitted by your instructor.

We will provide you with all the necessary safety equipment and the lesson includes cartridges and 50 clays.

 

JUNIOR LESSON (50 Clays) – £70

The perfect way to develop young guns skills is a 1 hour lesson with a profession instructor.

Here at Thimbleby, we aim to encourage the progression of future generations for the good of the sport. There is no substitute for starting shooting at an early age, children have a much greater capacity for absorbing information and learning something new, and with guidance and supervision from our qualified, CRB checked instructors, they will be showing you how it is done!

We have a wide variety of guns available to suit all sizes and ages. We will take our juniors through all the necessary points on gun safety, handling and gun fit and also advise on which gun would best suit each individual.

All safety equipment is provided together with cartridges and clays and the lesson is tailored to the needs of the individual.

ADVANCED ADULT/GAME SHOOTING LESSON (75 Clays) – £95 PER LESSON

This is a 1 hour comprehensive lesson, tailored to your needs and aimed particularly at developing your skills.

For the more experienced shots, there are times when we plateau in our progression or simply have a bit of a dry spell. This can often be attributed to a very slight habit that you may have picked up. It can also be due to changes in build or eyesight. These will be quickly identified by our instructors and training given to rectify any problems.

Upon request, we can tailor the lesson to be Game orientated to get your eye in before a game day. We have a range of high driven targets and Grouse Butts which can be used.

We will provide you with all the necessary safety equipment and the lesson includes cartridges and 75 clays.

JOINT SHOOTING LESSON (100 clays/ 50 clays each) – £120

A joint lesson is a great way to learn to shoot or sharpen your existing skills together. This one and a half hour lesson is for two people with a professional instructor and it will be tailored to your needs.

Maybe you have recently retired and are looking for a new pastime to share together, enjoying time spent in the countryside learning a new skill. A joint lesson makes a great gift, perhaps as a birthday or Christmas present. It can also be ideal for father’s day, where dad can spend a morning together with his son or daughter learning from our instructors as well as each other.

This one and a half hour lesson includes guns, safety equipment, cartridges and 100 clays.
