Autumn at Thimbleby
Autumn has well and truly arrived here at Thimbleby Shooting Ground. The nights are drawing in and the days are becoming cooler and damper as each week goes by. The heather of the North Yorkshire Moors around us is fading from its flowering purple to a deep reddish brown, matching the red, yellow and brown of the leaves of the trees on the estate. It’s a beautiful sight and makes a morning spent shooting here that little bit more special.
The clocks will change at the end of October, marking the start of months of short days and long nights. Following a summer where customers enjoyed sitting outside on our terrace and soaking up some sunshine, it’s time to head into the clubhouse. The log burner ensures a cheerful and welcoming glow, as well as helping people warm up chilly fingers, and the cafe is a cosy spot to unwind and debrief. The clubhouse was built for flexible use and the spaces are perfect for a wide range of events.
If you’re on the hunt for a venue for an annual meeting, some team building or simply a day out to thank a team for their hard work during the pandemic, we have the facilities to ensure the day runs smoothly. There are dedicated meeting rooms for conducting any serious business before you head out for some shooting lessons and then perhaps a competitive flurry?
We also rent the clubhouse out for children’s parties (for children and young people aged 10 and over), a blend of fun and expert tuition. If your child is a keen young shot who would love to celebrate their birthday with their friends and learn more about both shotgun and air rifle shooting, this is the perfect treat. Not many children come away from a birthday party with a new skill which they might just carry on developing for the rest of their lives!
We can also help you mark a milestone birthday or anniversary for an older shooting enthusiast, pairing toasts and celebrations with fantastic food, all managed seamlessly by our events team. You can choose to combine your event with shooting or simply enjoy the clubhouse and the excellent company! Our brilliant kitchen team will work with you to create a spread of tasty food and drink which suits your style down to the ground.
