It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

Are you ahead of the curve when it comes to Christmas planning or waiting until the 1st of December (at least!) before getting into the festive spirit?  Here at Thimbleby we’ve been busy planning ahead to ensure we offer a festive welcome to all our customers this year. We’ve got everything from Christmas shopping, mulled wine and mince pies at our member event to simply offering a place to escape and get some fresh air during the holiday.

If you’re busy searching high and low for Christmas presents for your friends and loved ones, our retail space is well worth a visit. There’s everything that fans of clay shooting, air rifles or the countryside could possibly need. From gun slips and cartridge bags to hearing and eye protection and clothing, footwear and accessories that will ensure you look stylish and stay warm when you’re shooting or taking a winter walk to the pub. There are cufflinks, dog collars and leads, greetings cards and so much more! We even have a wide selection of books about every aspect of shooting, including great British gunmakers, tips for hitting more sporting clays and guides to game shooting and stalking.

We also sell gift vouchers (in £25, £50 and £100 denominations) which can be ‘jazzed up’ to make a more exciting gift by including one in a bespoke Thimbleby hamper. That way the recipient still has something to unwrap on the day but can use the voucher to buy something which they’ve had their eye on for a whole. That might be a lesson, something from our gun room or shop, or even put it towards a Simulated Game Day in 2022.

Christmas opening hours

If all you want for Christmas is to come to Thimbleby for some fresh air and to dust some clays, here are our festive opening hours for you to make a note of. The shooting ground will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day to give all our staff the chance to enjoy some well-deserved time off with their families. Our opening hours after Christmas and over the New Year period are as follows:

Monday 27th – 9.30am – 4pm

Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 29th 9.30am – 4pm

Thursday 30th 11.30am – 4pm

Friday 31st – 10am – 2.30pm

Saturday 1st – closed

Sunday 2nd – 10am – 2:30pm

Monday 3rd – 9.30am – 4pm

Tuesday 4th – 9.30am – 4pm

We look forward to seeing all our customers during the lead up to Christmas and beyond. Our clubhouse always offers a warm welcome with the log burner casting a merry glow and plenty of tempting smells coming out of the café… plus we now have a licence to serve alcohol, so you can enjoy a warming cup of mulled wine too.
